Lieutenant Oscar is a major character exclusive to the 2012 Lupin III spin-off series, The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. Saved at a young age by Inspector Zenigata, he is fiercely loyal to the Inspector, and will do just about anything to get his attention and praise. This loyalty is quickly revealed to be romantic attraction to Zenigata.
He frequently comes into conflict with Fujiko, the protagonist of the spin-off. He is violently jealous and misogynistic towards her due to her past sexual encounters with Zenigata.
SPOILER: Oscar's mental state rapidly declines over the second half of the series, to the point where he disguises himself as Fujiko in order to get Zenigata's attention. Failing to gain his attention, and murdering another police officer in the process, Oscar is recruited by the Owls, the shadowy antagonists of the series. They instruct him to set off a bomb during a parade, so that he might steal a valuable wedding dress, and gain Zenigata's love with it.
Shortly before the bomb is set to go off, Zenigata attempts to reconnect with Oscar, and reminds him not to let go of his pride. Oscar, realizing that Zenigata does still care about him, runs away to get rid of the bomb. However, with no time left to disarm it, he is forced to leap into the river while holding the bomb. We are left to believe that Oscar had died in the explosion.
In the last two episodes, Oscar is revealed to be alive, having been taken by the Owls and brought to the main antagonist's estate. He has been brainwashed and dressed to resemble Fujiko. After a fight with Zenigata, who once again tries to remind him of his pride, Oscar runs away, shooting at Zenigata when he attempts to follow. Oscar then drives a truck into the estate, setting it ablaze, and weeps. This is the last we see of Oscar, and his fate is unclear. He has not reappeared in any other Lupin media to date.
Zenigata is shown in the final credits sequence to have found Oscar's police badge, but no other trace of Oscar.
